Prayer for Thanksgiving
Dear Heavenly Father,
We humbly come before You with grateful hearts, recognizing the many blessings You have bestowed upon us.
Help us to continue to see and appreciate the wonderful things You have done for us and for those we love.
Bless our friends and families as we gather to give thanks. May our hearts be filled with gratitude, joy, and love.
For this, we pray.

Rooted In JOY
What an incredible first month of school we have had! Our school is alive with JOY, laughter, and learning. As we welcome the vibrant colours of fall, we look forward to continuing to live Rooted in Joy and embracing the many opportunities each day brings.
We gathered as a school community for our School Opening Celebration, coming together in faith, prayer, and joy. Thank you to our Grade 5 students for leading us in prayer, and to Mrs. Craig and Mrs. Olya for sharing their musical talents and helping make our celebration so special. A special thank-you to Deacon Tom for joining us!
This yearâs theme, Rooted in Joy, reminds us to find joy in our faith, in one another, and in the many blessings God places in our lives. Together, we look forward to a year of learning, loving, leading, and serving God in one another.
Here at Monsignor William Irwin, we have so much to be thankful for. On behalf of our entire staff, we wish all our MWI families a blessed and happy Thanksgiving!

National Day of Truth and Reconciliation
September 30th is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day commemorates and honours the experiences and loss of the thousands of children who were placed in residential schools. It is recognized annually as a way to come together in the spirit of reconciliation and to affirm that every child matters.
Orange Shirt Day will be recognized on Tuesday, September 29th
Students and staff at MWI will recognize this day on September 30th(classes cancelled).
School Advisory Council (SAC) Update
There will be an Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, October 21 at 5:30 p.m.
During this meeting, we will be filling the roles of SAC Chair and Society Chair.

Thanksgiving and Halloween Food Drive
This fall, MWI students are invited to help support our community through 2Â food drives!
ð Thanksgiving Food Drive â Bring in a non-perishable food item during the week of October 5â9 to help families in our community celebrate Thanksgiving with a little extra support. Please join us for our Thanksgiving celebration on Friday, October 9 at 1:30 p.m.
ð Scare Away Hunger â During the week leading up to Halloween, bring in a non-perishable food item as we come together to support St. Vincent de Paul and St. Thomas More Parish and scare away hunger!
Letâs show our Golden Wolf Way through kindness, generosity, and service. Every item makes a difference!
