A Remembrance Day Prayer for Peace

Loving God,

As we remember those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom, help us to honour their courage by choosing peace in our own lives.

May we be people who show kindness instead of anger, understanding instead of judgment, and love instead of hate. Guide us to be peacemakers in our homes, our school, and our world.

We pray for all those who continue to live with the pain of war, and for a world where every person can live in safety, dignity, and peace.

May we never forget the sacrifices of those who came before us, and may we always remember that peace begins with each of us.

Lord, make us instruments of Your peace.

Amen.

November News

During November, we will recognize All Saints’ Day, All
Souls’ Day, Catholic Education Sunday, Veterans’ Week, Remembrance Day, and Holodomor Memorial Day.

All Saints’ Day (November 1) honours the saints who inspire us through their faith and holy lives. All Souls’ Day (November 2) is a time to remember our loved ones who have passed away and pray with hope in the promise of eternal life.

Remembrance Day (November 11) invites us to honour the courageous Canadians who have served and sacrificed for our freedom. We encourage families to observe a moment of silence at 11:00 a.m. and remember the importance of peace. Students and families are invited to join us for our school Remembrance Day commemoration on November 10 in the gymnasium. Students are also encouraged to wear a red poppy as a symbol of remembrance and support for veterans and their families.
